ParallelEscape started with three guides who were tired of watching guests get sold generic itineraries by agents who'd never set foot in the Mara.
ParallelEscape was founded in Nairobi by a small group of safari guides who kept running into the same problem: guests were arriving with itineraries built by agents who had never actually been to the camps they were selling. Routes that looked fine on paper meant six hours of driving for twenty minutes of game viewing.
So we started planning trips the way we'd plan them for our own family — around where the animals actually are that month, not around which lodge pays the best commission. Every itinerary on this site is a real route we've driven, not a template.
We're still small on purpose. A small team means every trip gets planned by someone who can point at a map and tell you, from memory, which waterhole is worth the detour this week.
We recommend camps because they're right for you, not because they pay the highest referral fee.
A share of every booking supports the conservancy partnerships that keep these landscapes intact.
Our senior guides average over a decade in the field — we built a career path so good ones don't leave.
